Now that summer is here, it is time to have some fun and go off-roading with your Silverado or ATV. There are plenty of places to go here in Alabama. In fact, there are some excellent off-roading trails near Birmingham that you should check out this summer.
This 1,456-acre park is the first of its kind in the state. It is located in Bremen and has trails available for rock crawlers, ATVs, horseback riders, hikers, mountain bikes, and other recreational equipment. The park is open Friday-Monday all summer long. Admission is $15 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under.
The Grey Rock off-road park has almost 2,000 acres and over 40 trails to experience. It is only open by reservation and is located near Gardendale. The park frequently updates old trails and adds new ones, so there is always a fresh challenge even if you’ve been there before.
Open the second and fourth weekends of every month, Morris Mountain in Delta features rock gardens, mud bogs, obstacle courses, wooded trails, and tight canyons. They welcome all registered off-road vehicles except for ATVs and motorcycles. Season passes are available, or you can just pay for the weekend.
